The Student Handbook lists important site and district policies, programs, and expectations. It is imperative that students AND parents are informed of this information. Please take some time to thoroughly review the handbook with your student so that they are familiar with expectations.
AVID Program At Willis Jr High
Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) is a structured, college preparatory system that prepares students to attend a four-year university after graduation from high school. AVID is a school-wide approach to curriculum and rigor that provides direct support to students. The Mission of AVID is:
- Students will succeed in rigorous curriculum
- Students will complete a rigorous college preparatory path
- Students will become educated and responsible participants and leaders in a democratic society

From our inception in 2002, as the first junior high gifted program in Chandler, we have the legacy and reputation of a highly successful program where students have phenomenal junior high experience! We are dedicated to fostering the holistic development of our exceptional students through a dynamic curriculum rooted in critical thinking and extensive research projects. The primary purpose of the CUSD Transportation Department is to safely transport eligible students to and from school.
