Willis Junior High School has a proud history of preparing students for academic and social success in high school and beyond. At Willis, we pride ourselves in providing students with diverse learning experiences that address their academic, social, and emotional needs. Everything we do at Willis is centered on our three Core Values.

Willis is a place where: (1) everyone must feel safe and valued, (2) learning is a priority, and (3) we take pride in our school and doing little things can make a big difference. We encourage the development of the whole-child and want all of our students to be active participants in their learning experience. We offer a wide variety of student-led clubs, athletics, and social activities to assist them in their efforts to build connections within our school community.

Our rich academic tradition includes such accolades as state championships in Knowledge Bowl, Arizona Science and Engineering Fair Championships, National History Day competition winners, and state championships in VEX Robotics. A highly acclaimed music program provides students with opportunities to enhance their artistic abilities through, band, jazz band, choir and orchestra.

In addition, Willis has diverse elective offerings and competes in the East Valley Conference – providing a wide variety of sports over four quarters.

At Willis, we are proud to offer a pathway to success for every student. Members of our teaching staff are enthusiastic advocates for our kids. They make every effort to build positive relationships and design lessons and activities that meet students where they are and engage and challenge them to improve.
